Herman Melville was born in 1819 and died in 1891. He was a nove3list, short story writer, and a poet of the American renaissance period., (1830-Civile War). His best-know work is Moby-Dick published in 1851. At the time of his death, Melville was not well know to the public; but 1919, the centennial of his birth, was the starting point of a Melville revival. Moby-Dick eventually would b considered one of the great American novels. Join Dan Baker in this reviting discussion of Herman Melville.
