Are you curious about other cultures and religions? Have you ever visited a place of worship or faith community other than yours? Taking the step to visit another faith community can be intimidating without knowing what to expect or how visitors are expected to conduct themselves during services. This class will introduce you to facts about select communities of faith that will allow you to appreciate cultural differences, experience different modes of worship, and add self-confidence when establishing relationships with people from other religions. Also covered in this class will be to explore ways for those interested to take interfaith and inter-cultural relationships to higher levels. This class will consist of a combination of lecture and discussion. The recommended text is How to Be a Perfect Stranger: The Essential Religious Etiquette Handbook by Stuart M. Matlins.
