Service dogs play an important role in a disabled person’s life, opening doors, picking up keys, assisting them in their social life. Since its founding in 1975, Canine Companions has provided over 7,700 service dogs to people with disabilities. You will have the opportunity to hear from the volunteer puppy raisers, see the puppies that are in training, what training they do and discuss how to properly interact with a service dog and their handler.
