In this course, the instructor/speaker will discuss her book, Split Shift: Busing and Desegregation. In 2024, the country observed the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education. The court order asked that states comply with "all delibrerate speed" to integrate Black and White public schools. Some states did not move quickly at all. Some districts/schools are still egregated by race, economic status, and geographical locations. How can this be in 2025? What were the pros and cons of desgeregation? How are lives affected.
