The term geoengineering refers to the various means of reducing the effects of the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which is the primary reason for our recent changing climate. While some methods are worth considering, such as capturing and burial of carbon dioxide, others, like putting dust particles or mirrors in the atmosphere, are quite dangerous. Therese extreme measures are being considered because we are not responding quickly enough to the changes in climate - but are we doing enough to reduce emissions before giving up? We will consider the pros and cons of proposed geoengineering ideas. Andy has studied the science behind climate change for over 15 years and has given many presentations locally and nationally on the topic.
