In this class Dan will explore and examine many famous stories, some that are based on lies, legends and myths. We will also hear interesting historical trivia such as: Congressman later Civil War General Daniel Sickles believed that a certain man was having an affair with his wife. One day seeing this man walking on the street, the aggrieved husband ran outside an placing a pistol on the man's chest, shot him in the heart. The adulterer was Phillip Key, son of Francis Scott Key, author of our National Anthem. Congressman Sickles was arrested and charge with murder; however, he pleaded temporary insanity. This was the first-time temporary insanity was used as a plea and the jury bought it. Sickles was found not guilty. Instructor: Dan Baker
